My review is specifically for Zatka’s vada pav. Being a mumbaikar, i have been disappointed far too many times having vada pav in the States. So when I was offered to try zatka’s vada pav on my visit to austin, I was weary and didn’t have my hopes high. Nothing really comes close to the authentic vada pav found on mumbai’s streets and maharashtrian households, so I had kept my expectations low. But i was pleasantly surprised when i had my first bite, it was like that scene in ratatouille movie where the food critic is transported back to his roots. I have tried vada pav at plenty of places, and apart from california, the closest that I can say hits home is zatka in ATX. This vada pav took me back home 🥹 their sukhi chutney is amaze; cherry on top would be if they even added some crispy chura to that vada pav. I am glad that the pav is actual pav, not burger bun or hawaiin rolls. Ofcourse the mumbai style pav is hard to get here, but i’ll take this pav any day. Zatka remains my favorite, i can’t wait to visit back atx and binge on zatka’s vadapav again. I also tried their kanda bhajji, they were decent. We had our order delivered, so they came in soggy..perhaps because of the heat,

We regularly go to this place for authentic maharashtrian dishes. This time we had vada pav, sabudana vada and tea. I have had vada pav from this place on several occasions and I thoroughly enjoy the taste of vada and the chatanies every time. Today sabudana vada was the new dish for us here and glad it was so tasty. It was crispy and at the same time so soft within. They made it so well. On top of this having nice hot tea when it’s raining outside made the occasion memorable. Glad we met the owner couple and thanked them for providing delicious Marathi food here in our very own Austin.

Y’all GO here! Drive-Thru *** This chicken beats all fast-food chains on spices, flavor and quality. I had the chicken nuggets, chicken Sandwhich (comes with slaw, pickles, onions, American cheese, mayo, homemade bun & the most flavorful breaded chicken). I enjoy the tamarind sauce with the nuggets to get balance between spice in chicken & sweetness in sauce. The Vada Pav (vegetable potato patty) in between homemade bun dipped in the green sauce is BOMB! The Momo sauce was SO good with the chicken sandwhich and nuggets. Cant wait to go back and try the paneer Frankie and MORE :)

Tried a few items at Zatka Bites and had a really positive experience. The vada pav with chai delivered that true Mumbai street‑style comfort, and the misal pav (loved the packaging) was genuinely comparable to what you’d get in Mumbai — rich, spicy, and very well balanced. They also offered paneer momos for tasting, which was a thoughtful gesture and actually quite good. Overall, warm service and authentic street‑food flavors make this a solid spot in Austin.

We came across this place through reels! And must I say it’s just beyond amazing! As a Mumbaikar, I can vouch that their taste is exactly what I have been dreaming to have in US and they delivered that taste with quality. Must try for sure. We drove 1/2 hr for this and it was 100% worth it. Thoughtfully packed, they have a drive thru & sitting. We loved the vada pav, missal pav, kokam sharbat! Had a lovely chat with Mr. Kiran & his partner. Serving with love & warmth! Will come back soon!
